The Managing Principals of the Fund are Martin G. Berger and Michael G. Klinger. Mr. Berger and Mr. Klinger
have worked together for over eight years. Together, the Managing Principals have over forty years of successful track records in real estate investment, finance, development, land entitlements and banking.
Martin G. Berger
, Managing Principal
Since 1989 Mr. Berger has directed the activities of McCann Development LLC and McCann Development Series II LLC, fully integrated real estate development companies experienced in land acquisitions, entitlements, financing, construction, marketing and sale of residential, retail and hospitality related products. In this capacity Mr. Berger conceived, negotiated, obtained permits and approvals and implemented development plans representing over $1.5 billion in real estate deals.
Prior to founding the McCann Companies, Mr. Berger was Vice President of Property Management at Diversified Holding Corp.(DHC Realty Corp.) where he was responsible for the operation, leasing and financial management of DHC's 38 properties throughout the country. The portfolio consisting of retail, industrial, office and residential properties represented over $450 million in assets. Mr. Berger holds an M.B.A. and BA/BS from Northeastern University.
Michael G. Klinger
, Managing Principal
Prior to founding Saber, Mr. Klinger spent 12 years sourcing, analyzing, structuring and managing real estate and corporate investments and developments for The Blackstone Group, L.P., The Related Companies, L.P. in New York City and The Related Group in Florida. . From 1996 to 2000, Mr. Klinger worked in the Real Estate Private Equity Group at The Blackstone Group, LP where he analyzed, structured and managed private equity real estate transactions world wide including the acquisitions of office buildings, apartment complexes, hotels, land and publicly traded real estate companies. From 2000 to 2003, Mr. Klinger worked in the Real Estate Development and Finance Group at The Related Companies, L.P. developing a multitude of New York City and Chicago high-rise condominiums and tax-exempt financed rental apartments. While at Related, Mr. Klinger was instrumental in the acquisition of LR Development, a Chicago-based real estate development firm. From 2003 to 2007, Mr. Klinger sourced deals and developed condominiums and resort communities for The Related Group in Florida, the Caribbean and Central America. Mr. Klinger is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of The Wharton School.
